  • Overview

    SBM Management is searching for a Network Engineer to join their team! The Network Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and improving the corporate network infrastructure to include routers, switches, firewalls and the connections to servers, SAN, VM, workstations, and mobile devices. They assist the IT department with system configuration, setup, monitoring, account maintenance, and requested configuration changes. They also demonstrate a blend of advanced technical knowledge, hands-on support skills, teamwork and have excellent communication abilities.

    Responsibilities

    • Supports the installed network infrastructure
    • Defines, architects, designs, and delivers network solutions
    • Defines and implements upgrades to the network infrastructure systems
    • Tests and evaluates network changes to eliminate problems and make improvements
    • Assists in the development and maintenance of network communication
    • Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks
    • Documents the current and proposed network configurations
    • Creates detailed technical procedures and plans
    • Provides troubleshooting and first/second level customer support
    • Provides technical training and guidance to less experienced team members
    • Participates actively on project teams
    • May require some travel.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science; or five+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Network Administration/Network Engineer certification in Microsoft.
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    • Must be able to clearly and concisely articulate issues and resolutions to both management and end users as required both written and verbally.

    • Ability to document actions taken to resolve a technical requirement.

    • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting actions including assessing prioritization of available actions.

    • Understanding of basic escalation process.

    • Demonstrate the ability to logically work through a problem.

    • Experience in Server products including MSSQL, SCCM, AD, Exchange, IIS, VMWare.
    • Some experience with MacOS, iOS, Android.
    • As systems are changed and upgraded it is required to stay current on knowledge of the environment being supported.
    • Current CCNA certification or equivalent.
