  • Overview

    SBM Management is looking for a highly-skilled Corporate Controller to join our management team. Directs financial activities of an organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

    Responsibilities

    • Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company.
    • Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs.
    • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
    • Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
    • Advises management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
    • Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
    • Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.
    • Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
    • Arranges for audits of company's accounts.
    • Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
    • Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities                                                     

    • Manages two subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 10+ employees in the Payroll and AP. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises one non-supervisory employee. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Qualifications

     

    • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. 
    • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

    The pay for this role is dependent on the selected candidates experience.
